We are offering a PhD fellowship in sleep neurophysiology commencing 1 October 2019 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Our group and research
The Kornum Lab explores sleep biology in health and disease. Our focus is to understand sleep-wake neurophysiology and how the immune system affects the sleep regulating networks of the brain. We are particularly interested in the hypocretin/orexin neurons, their signaling, and their involvement in the sleep disorder narcolepsy and in sleep-wake regulation during sickness in general.

Project description
The aim of the project is to explore a novel pathway in sleep regulation and how it is affected in the sleep disorder narcolepsy type 1. The project will use in vivo neurophysiological methods including sleep-wake assessment with eeg/emg-measurements in mice.
