Aarhus Universitet

Department of Bioscience, Aarhus University, is looking for a person to participate in the logistic operation of the research station in Nord- and Northeastern Greenland.

You either have an education as craftsman or have acquired similar competences from previous employment. You can handle the day-to-day operation of a research station, including maintenance of buildings, energy and water supply, planning of services, radio and telecommunications, purchasing of field equipment and supplies, look after and secure the safety of visitors, and lead a small group of seasonal employees. You are creative and want to develop your work area and find solutions to often-untraditional challenges under extreme conditions. The most important thing, however, is that you want to enter into a strong teamwork, where high service to the customers is the keyword and where there are busy periods. Knowledge of the conditions in Greenland is an advantage.

You will be part of a team of three employees who work all year round with planning of this year's field season. In the summer, the staff is expanded with another two to four people who help with the practical work in the field.

The job involves several postings in Greenland during the field season. Here you will act as head of one of our field activities, and you will have a small team of seasonal employees to help you with the practical work. During the rest of the year, you will have a place of employment in the Logistics Unit, Aarhus University, in Roskilde.
