The University seeks to appoint an associate professor to the Department of Immunology and Microbiology with special emphasis on MHC-based immunochemistry to commence on 1 August 2019. The position is part-time (5 %).

Job description
The subject area is immunochemistry with emphasis on peptide-MHC class I and II interactions, the application of high-density peptide microarrays to immune epitope discovery (CD4+ T cell as well as linear B cell epitopes) and the use of bioinformatics to analyze the resulting data and further support epitope discovery. Duties of the position include research in this area, development of new and improved technologies addressing peptide-MHC interaction, dissemination of the scientific results to a broad audience, and teaching of pre- and post-graduate students. As the post is mainly financed by research projects, the job will include coordination and planned research within these projects. Some commissioned work within immune epitope discovery may be included.

The associate professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
• Research, including publication/academic dissemination
• Management and coordination of research projects
• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
• Research-based teaching, including associated examination
• Academic assessments
• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate

Required qualifications
The successful applicant should be able to document:
• Research qualifications achievable in a position as assistant professor or equivalent within the subject area
• Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies
• Research-based teaching
• Skills within the development of advanced, homogenous assays to measure receptor-ligand interactions (e.g. LOCI, SPA, TR-FRET)
• Skills within the application and analysis of high-density peptide microarrays
• Skills within the bioinformatical analysis of the above generated data


The associate professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.

Terms of employment
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2013.
